Images we see from the city of Tokyo are often about the large, loud, neon filled streets of neighborhoods like Shibuya Crossing or the manga district of Akihabara. What many visitors often miss are the quiet neighborhood streets hidden among those crowd-filled areas. Small streets like this one that are places where families stroll at dusk and meet up with neighbors for dinner or a drink. We found this street as we sought out a pizza place – yes, traditional Neapolitan pizza – in the heart of Tokyo. Of all the places I would like to return in Tokyo, it is this street, where I had the feeling of almost being a local – strolling, nodding to passersby and enjoying a moment of quiet in a city that sometimes feels like there is no calm to be found
