The famous Tokyo fish market where fisherman would actually auction off their daily catch has been moved from the location it had been for decades. While you have to venture further afield to have that experience, the fish market still exists if you’re looking to buy retail, sample sushi or, for those with strong stomachs, are willing to sample more exotic fare. While it was only 700 yen, we were not brave enough to try the crab brain! But I did convince my husband to try some types of sushi he had never had before … but no fugu, otherwise known as sometimes poisonous blowfish.
